As humans, we have a very literal need for people. Our ancestors survived in tribes, and whether we are conscious of it or not, we survive with love. Love is a beautiful thing that creates space for vulnerability and sometimes even heartbreak.
Romantic lovers aren’t always the ones that break your heart. Mothers, fathers, friends, cousins, brothers sisters etc. have the ability to cause heartache and suffering. It’s likely that these people have caused you more pain than lovers ever could.
So, what do you do when your heart is broken? How do you heal? It’s a lonely place when someone near to your heart causes you pain. Here are some things that can help the healing process and restore your heart and happiness.
- Use Sage to purify. If someone with negative energy was in your home or heart, an important first step is to purify your surroundings. Smudging is an ancient ritual that will leave your home and aura rejuvenated.
- Take a break from social media. Watching someone you love living a perfectly “happy” life on social media can put a damper on your day. Put the cell phone down and live your life authentically to you and your passions.
- Focus on loving yourself. It is so easy to get caught up in loving others that we forget to love ourselves. Use this time to put you first and let your heart heal. When you begin to love and respect yourself, you are more likely to stand up for how you know you should be treated.
- Be vulnerable. Heartbreak is an important part of our evolution. Let your feelings flow. Don’t try to stop crying and don’t be hard on yourself for still holding on to fond memories. By letting your emotions ebb and flow, you save yourself from future pain.
Last but not least, don’t be afraid to cut it off. Let your intuition be your guide and you will know when it is time to end an unhealthy relationship. Remember, you cannot force someone to love and respect you, but you can love and respect yourself enough to let go of someone who doesn’t.
Happy healing and Namaste.

Great tips! i wish I knew about this when I was in college. I had so much heart aches from stupid boys! However, now I know how to move on and love me! It is so important to love yourself. The sage purifier is interesting. Never heard of that before! I will give it a try if I am ever heartbroken or feel like I have negative energy around me! Thanks for sharing.
Yes girl! The sage is really good for any time, even when you aren’t heartbroken. If you are feeling stuck or heavy, it will purify that negative energy! 🙂
Love this so much.
Thank you so much. I am glad. ❤
