Finding Your Light

With my 23rd birthday around the corner, I have been thinking more and more about the quality of my life. What I like and dislike, my passions, and what sets my soul on fire. I began thinking of the saying “you choose your own happiness” and what that means to me.

I actually don’t like that saying because I don’t feel like it’s an accurate model of what happens in real life. I don’t believe that you wake up, look in the mirror and say “I will be happy today” but continue doing the things that create negative patterns in your life. I believe that in order to “choose your happiness” you choose to create lasting change in your life.

I’ve been told multiple times, “you can’t keep doing the same things expecting different results”. By changing negative patterns, you create genuine and positive thoughts, thus enriching the quality of life. When you choose change, you choose to be happy.

Your spirit and intuition always knows what you need. When you listen to your intuition, you are able to give yourself happiness that you never dreamed possible. But this may entail a radical change, and radical change is not easy. People may judge you, tell you that you’re doing the wrong thing. Sometimes you may even think that you are doing the wrong thing. But continue listening to yourself, your soul when the mind is quiet. Meditate on your happiness and your greatest desire.

When you follow your intuition, you are choosing to live in a heavenly state of bliss. You find your voice, your calling and you are living your full potential. When you are living without listening to your intuition, you may feel like you are living in hell. Like nothing matters, and life is a pointless journey.

I feel that instead of “choose your happiness every day” a more appropriate term would be “choose your intuition every day”. It’s never too late to set your soul on fire.

Namaste.
