My OT tells me we have to start where we are and find a normal life from there.I haven’t felt “normal” since March, when the mass on my brain stem was discovered. I’m so glad this week happened. I was able to do things that I love and discover my normal starting where I am.
1. I taught my FIRST EVER wheelchair yoga class. 🧘🏼♀️ I was able to teach my peers with brain injuries at rehab a 30minute session that included asana and savasana.
2. I LEFT THE HOUSE and went to DINNER 🤭 this is something I really had to prep for mentally. I’m so nervous to eat in front of other humans. We went to The Woolworthin downtown Dallas. The elevator was broken so I had to walk up about 20 steps. Thank God for physical therapy that prepared me for that! When I arrived at the table, the staff and my friends were so accommodating. I’m on a strictly purée diet, and the chef thought of something he could make with. Let’s just say… YUMMY 😋 I also had Creme Brûlée for dessert. I give The Woolworth five stars! You must go if you’re in Dallas. Anyway, back to the adventure out of the house. I had to go to the bathroom, but I was wearing a ROMPER. Who does that!? So, my friend Caitlin had to come to help me get it off to use the bathroom! Lol 😆 Let’s just say I accidentally ripped my romper.
This week was full of adventure! I began to feel like myself again. So, I guess you could say I’m starting from where I am.
Love y’all 🧚🏻♀️❤️
